I'm the weirdo who isn't always impressed by someone's follower count on Instagram. But Negin Mirsalehi is the exception. She has over 6.7 million followers (yup, you read that right), and I 100% understand the obsession. Aside from being insanely gorgeous and having impeccable style, Mirsalehi has the best head of hair, which makes sense given that she's the founder of Gisou, a line of honey-based hair and skin products. (The brand also just launched its first face oil.) I guess that's the fate of someone whose mom is a hairdresser and whose dad is a beekeeper.
"Throughout my youth, I would look to my mom for skin and hair advice. She took good care of herself and always made sure she looked put together before ever leaving the house. She's a hairdresser by trade and would use honey from our family's bee garden to formulate her own haircare solutions, and I continued to use them throughout my youth," says Mirsalehi. Even though she's been surrounded by hair products since she was a little girl, it took her some time to realize that the quality of products and ingredients is more important than their quantity. Curious to see her top skin, hair, and makeup picks? Keep scrolling for the skincare, makeup, and hair products in her current lineup (and the one hair product she's been using daily since she was a kid).
"Our Gisou community, which sits at the heart of our brand, has been asking for a leave-in conditioner for a while, so we set out to create a nourishing, multi-tasking leave-in to complete the ideal Gisou Honey Infused haircare routine. It contains our hero key ingredient, Mirsalehi Honey from my family’s bee garden, as well as a blend of additional nourishing ingredients such as baobab extract, argan oil, and panthenol to hydrate, smooth, protect and strengthen, all while leaving behind a healthy shine. It's safe to say this is my new go-to for after and between washes. I also use it as an overnight treatment."
"My bag is never complete without this. It's based on a family recipe that was formulated by my mom, and honey from our family bee garden is the key ingredient. It's the one product I have used on a daily basis ever since I was a little girl. Utilizing the power of our Mirsalehi Honey, it nourishes, moisturizes, seals split ends, prevents breakage, tames frizz and flyaways, and ensures my hair always has a healthy shine. I truly believe this is what keeps my hair healthy! I couldn't live without it."
"Another Gisou all-in-one that is great to have on hand in your carry-all bag. You only need a pea-sized portion to use as a pre-styling product to enhance natural hair texture, prevent frizz, and maximize volume. I also love to continue using it throughout the day when my hair needs a touch up of shine or when it's especially humid and my hair needs all of the frizz prevention it can get."
"Whether my hair is freshly washed or a few days old, I want it to smell nice at all times. This is the concentrated version of our signature scent, which is featured in all products of the Honey Infused range. It's a delicate mixture of my family's Mirsalehi Honey, which is the key ingredient in all of our products, and the florals are sourced from our Mirsalehi Bee Garden."
"Even before Covid-19, I always made sure to have a hand sanitizer on me. When I traveled a lot, it especially came in handy. The downside of hand sanitizers is that they tend to strip and dehydrate skin. I recently found this one from Haan, and I love that it cleanses without leaving my skin dry."
