My mom and I have been going on shopping trips together since I was a baby. Our favorite thing to do on the weekends is head to the mall and explore. Before our most recent shopping trip together, my mom let me in on the little secret that she only just now found out that skinny jeans are not in anymore. She heard about the buzz for the wide-leg trousers that everyone is replacing them with and she wanted in. I immediately thought of a pair of pants that have been viral on TikTok for some time now. Creators on the app have named any pair of wide-leg pants after Aritzia's Effortless Pant and gone crazy for them. I thought my mom would love the high-waisted look, so we headed to the mall to try them on.
It was my mom's first time trying something on at Aritzia, and she wasn't a fan of the very public-mirror situation, and I immediately could tell that she did not love the high-waisted look as much as I thought she would. She told me it was because they were just too high-waisted. Although she wanted to leave immediately, I asked a sales associate if they had anything that was either mid- or low-rise. This is when I was introduced to the Alanya Pant. When I convinced my mom to try them on, she was immediately obsessed.
Her entire review of the pants surprised me because I felt like the low-rise look is trendier, but to her, it was far more comfortable. I'm currently on the same page having traded my high-waisted pants for mid-rise and will continue shopping in this direction.
