6 Boot Trends a Fashion Editor Is Done With

I'm quite fond of a good old-fashioned closet clean-out, but I hate getting rid of shoes. I don't often wear out my shoes to the point of having to throw them away, but when I go years without wearing a pair, it's obvious that they're just taking up space in my closet.

I've just returned from an end-of-summer vacation, and I've never been more in the mood to free up space for new fall items. And since boots take up a significant amount of room, they're up first. There are several styles I've admittedly been hanging on to for far too long, and I'm finally ready to part with them. The good news is that it's an incentive to do some shopping for new boots.

Remember when white was the only boot color that mattered? While I'm certainly not opposed to wearing them, I'm much more interested in red boots this season. In fact, it's the boot trend I might be buying first.

I like how they instantly make any outfit look cool, and since I haven't bought a pair in awhile, I'll be adding them to my shopping list.
