As days of bright blue skies and lounging around sipping rosé stretch ahead of us, the impending scorching weeks have prompted a very important discussion: what jewellery trends will dominate the summer 2025 season? "We’ve definitely been seeing a shift towards heavier gold pieces and bolder, more sculptural jewellery," explains Cushla Whiting, co-founder and creative director of eponymously titled fine jewellery brand Cushla Whiting.

"Ear cuffs are having a strong moment, as are large, sculptural cuffs and bangles," she adds. "Layered, chunkier link chains and charms are still popular. Platinum and silver are regaining popularity, and can be styled alongside yellow gold for a chic two-tone look. And brooches and lapel pins are making a welcome comeback."

For Pia Mance, the Australian wunderkind behind Hailey Bieber, Sofia Richie Grainge and Florence Pugh’s go-to jewellery brand, Heaven Mayhem, the most important jewellery trends for 2025 are the ones that make the biggest splash. Heaven Mayhem's designs are like catnip for cool girls, and are always seen on the most influential and stylish women, so it’s safe to say she knows a thing or two about spotting trends—and setting them.

"As the weather warms up, I think we will be seeing some bigger pendant pieces but with a longer length," Mance says. "Think pendants that hit the mid-waist, styled with a bikini."

The message is clear: jewellery is no longer a finishing touch or an afterthought when putting together a look, but an integral part of it. Consider the bracelet bags pioneered by Chloé, or the brooches that speckled the lapels of the French and Danish style sets during recent fashion weeks. Style Notes: You only need to look at Jennifer Lawrence's recent street style looks to know it's summer. What's the giveaway? It's the reappearance of the '90s cord necklace, of course. "We released pendant necklaces in 2022 when we first launched," Mance says of the trend. "It was our first product that shaped the brand into what it is today. "I'm not shocked [at the trend's momentum], as this piece is truly something special and looks great on everyone."

2. Chunky Bangles

Style Notes: Whilst resin and acrylic bangels have emerged as one of the most in-demand summer microtrends, a chunky bangle is more enduring. "Sculptural designs," according to Whiting, are one of the year's biggest trends, encompassing the organic, anatomically-inspired shapes of Tiffany & Co.'s Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff to the fluid forms of Saint Laurent's high jewellery.

"With my background in architecture, I am normally drawn to very graphic references," Whiting says. These motifs influence some of the brand's signature pieces, including the Cog Cuff, which boasts a streamlined band accented with three protruding hemispheres. The ring version of this design is the brand's best-seller, and Whiting notes that these shapes are "striking pieces that capture the spirit of art deco through a modern lens. With [their] clean geometry and refined edge, [they] speak to those drawn to statement pieces that feel both timeless and futuristic all at once."

3. Unique Stones

Style Notes: Much has already been said about the state of the diamond industry. The term "lab-grown", whilst a part of the collective lexicon, still has a lot of uncertainty hovering around it. As Whiting specialises in vintage diamonds, she predicts that more individual pieces like unique stones will take command this season. "I'm anticipating a renewed interest in natural-coloured gemstones and diamonds, particularly those that are truly one of a kind," she tells me.

"This includes diamonds with unique or speciality cuts, warmer tones such as champagnes and light yellows and genuine antique diamonds that carry rarity and character. There will also be a continued move towards full traceability for natural diamonds, from mine to market, a shift driven by consumers seeking authenticity and uniqueness."

4. Mixed Metals

Style Notes: Forget everything you've ever been told. Mixed metals are not only "in" but also desirable. From the Cartier Trinity bracelet that melts white, rose and yellow gold into one covetable collage to the coolest ring stacks that mix multiple metallics at once, we're setting our own rules when it comes to jewellery tones.

This season, there are "no dos or don’ts," Mance affirms. "That’s why we released [mixed-metals pieces], to give you permission to mix your metals from your rings to your bag buckle and your belt, and then tie it all together with a Heaven Mayhem mixed-metal piece." My take on the trend is wearing three Mejuri Dôme rings (two in gold and one in silver) on the same finger for an impactful stack.

Style Notes: One of the more surprising summer 2025 jewellery trends to emerge is brooches. "It's exciting to see nostalgic pieces such as brooches becoming an accessory again for everyday wear," says Whiting. From organic shapes to more statement motifs, a brooch is a tried-and-tested way of elevating simple summer silhouettes; simply pin to a tank top or the lapel of your blazer.

6. Seaside Charms

Style Notes: There's something about summer that encourages us to liberally reference the season in what we wear. Sure, spring is all about light pastel colours and dainty floral prints, but for summer 2025, we're drawing inspiration from the coastlines we wish we were lounging by. In jewellery, this translates to seaside charms, spiral pendants and woven, rope-like bands.

Style Notes: Jewellery is no longer worn in isolation, but designed to complement your entire ensemble. From Hailey Bieber wearing a Marine Serre dress made of 150 upcycled watch faces to Chloé's bracelet bag, jewellery is now being brought into styling. "Jewellery, especially fine jewellery, is increasingly being embraced as part of everyday style, not just saved for special occasions," Whiting says.

"Jewellery hardware is creeping into everyday accessories, [like with] bag charms. In a world of mass production, there's a growing appreciation for one-of-a-kind, customisable pieces. I think this shift is really driven by a desire for self-expression. People want their jewellery and accessories to feel personal, meaningful and uniquely their own," adds Whiting.
