I'm Only Wearing Dresses That Feel Like Nightgowns—Here Are 25 of My Favorites
I used to daydream about waking up in the morning, rolling out of bed, and getting right to work in my pajamas. It sounded like the ultimate luxury. But now that this lifestyle is a reality for unfortunate reasons, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss getting dressed up for a day of work… at my office… with people. Just to be clear, there’s nothing stopping me from picking—and wearing!—an outfit that doesn’t consist of loose, stretchy pieces except for myself, but honestly, the idea of putting on a pair of jeans is just a little more than my brain can handle right now. The idea of wearing flowy, even shapeless, dresses that resemble nightgowns, though? Now that’s something I fully support. So if you, like me, are getting a little bored of wearing the same ol' sweatsuits, here are 25 dresses I’m currently eyeing, from trendy and chill to romantic and slinky, that are as cozy as nighties.
Relaxed
This dress is definitely as soft as a nightgown, so I'll hardly even notice the difference when I change into it in the morning.
This is the ultimate comfy WFH dress, but I can also see myself wearing it to the beach (eventually).
This oversize t-shirt dress is the perfect take on elevated sleepwear.
When we’re no longer stuck inside, I’ll layer this cozy piece over a simple tee and jeans.
This 100% cotton dress is only $15 and comes in 10 different colors.
Romantic
Just wait—you’ll see me wearing this with cute sandals and a big straw hat once it’s finally safe to be out and about again.
The empire waistline is giving off major vintage vibes that I 100% can’t resist.
One of my favorite trends right now is a split neckline with ties, so yeah, this dress has me feeling all sorts of things.
Trendy
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t swayed by this cheerful color, but the flowiness is what really did me in.
Slinky
This slip dress is what WFH dreams are made of: a blend of cotton, cashmere, and all things cozy.
The easiest way to elevate a rib-knit dress is to add a side slit and waist tie.
If you’re feeling really ambitious, this tank dress would look amazing layered over a sheer long-sleeve top. Just sayin'.
Because we all could use a little something slinky and satiny right now.
