Given that I'm 100% an accessory girl, you're in good hands—trust me. In fact, I often have to remind myself to buy actual clothes to wear with the accessories I'd rather spend my money on. You probably get my drift. The only thing that I don't love about accessories is that they don't typically have quite as much longevity as other fashion trends, which is why I'm writing this particular piece of content.
I've been keeping a close eye on accessories on my Instagram and TikTok feeds and in real life, and there are a handful of beloved ones that have become quite oversaturated. Whenever that happens, it's safe to assume they've peaked, but that doesn't mean they're "over" by any means.

The Replacement: Satin Shoes
Denim everything infiltrated fashion in 2023, but I think we'll see less of it this year. I, for one, had trouble embracing denim shoes and accessories because I wear jeans often and it's just a lot of denim. Something you will see a lot of in 2024 is satin shoes. I fully expect these Prada mules to be one of the first new It shoes of spring.

Feeling Dated: Cowboy Hats
The Replacement: Hair Bows
"Girly" trends—the main one being hair bows—appear to be sticking around for the foreseeable future. A good indicator of this is that it's been a very popular trend for celebs on the red carpet as of late. On the flip side, I don't see cowboy hats sticking around, even though the Western trend still has legs. They're just a bit specific and can come across as costumey.

Yes, 2023 was understandably all about Barbie pink, but 2024 belongs to oxblood thanks in large part to Gucci's S/S 24 showing. Deep-red accessories are an easy way to make your outfits look rich.

I fully support us all continuing to wear our red tights, but it's a trend that doesn't feel unique anymore given its popularity. It's also been around for a minute. Puffy bags (quilted or not) have been wildly popular for several seasons, but I think it's time for something new and a bit more elegant. Enter suede bags, which are timeless and expensive looking.
