Summer is finally underway, signifying the welcome return of my favourite time of year: sandal season. When it comes to individual style, we all have the pieces that excite us the most, but one thing we can all agree on is the power of a particularly good shoe, and whether you're a dress devotee or live in linen, as soon as the sun's out, we all reach for a sandal.

As a self-confessed footwear fanatic, I spend the better part of my days looking at shoes, trying on shoes and writing about shoes, and after reviewing everything from Adidas trainers to Gucci loafers, I can spot a shoe trend happening from a mile off. This season, it comes in nude mattes, soft blues and flossy pinks. There's also various slides from the Marcie to the Uma that are set to turn minimalists heads.
