I’m 5'4" and My Co-Worker Is 5'9"—These Are the $50 Amazon Pants We Both Love

Shopping for pants online can be pretty hit or miss, especially when ordering from an e-tailer like Amazon, which has a massive inventory of different brands (and therefore different fits) to choose from. But sometimes you just luck out. If you have ever shopped for clothes on Amazon, you may be familiar with what is arguably the most stylish of its in-house brands: The Drop. The on-trend pieces are designed by different influencers, which certainly makes it stand out.

I frequently have The Drop pieces saved in my cart, and decided to take the plunge on a particular pair of pants I've had my eye as of late. The pants are a high-waisted pleated pair, made of comfortable Tencel, which is a sustainable fabric (bonus!). While fitted at the waist, they're quite loose in the legs, which I think we can all agree is the preference these days.

At 5'4", long and loose trousers can be tricky for me to pull off (especially with flats, which I boldly wore with them in the below photos), but it indeed worked. My fellow editor Kristen Nichols, who has five inches on me, is pictured wearing the same The Drop Sarah High-Waist Double Pleated Wide Leg Pants below. As you'll see, they're certainly more cropped on her, and they also looked great a bit more dressed up.

"Not only are these wide-leg black pants comfortable enough to wear all day long, but they're also the perfect wardrobe staple to wear with some of my favorite fall trends. Here, I paired them with a ribbed tube top, oversize blazer, kitten heels, and chain-link necklace. I have a feeling this is an outfit formula I'll be wearing on repeat this fall."

Allyson's Height: 5'4"

"My first thought upon putting these on was Wow, so comfortable. (Controversial statement: I'd even wear them to work from home all day.) My second thought was that they'd look best with a slightly cropped shirt since the waistband is so high, and I think I was right. (I also love the way Kristen wore them—with a tucked-in fitted top.) In retrospect, given my height, this outfit probably would've been more effective with even just a low heel, but I don't hate it with flats."
