5 Elegant Pant Trends Fashion People Will Wear Instead of Jeans This Fall

As someone who has a closet full of jeans and naturally defaults to them on a daily basis once fall arrives, I'm always looking for ways to mix up my wardrobe. In the fall, that usually means pants as opposed to the dresses and skirts I wear in the summer. In recent years, cargo and baggy pants have been the go-tos, but things are looking significantly more elegant and less casual in 2024.
Of all of the pant trends on the market right now, there are five that check the elegant box. These pants have the potential to make your fall outfits look rich and put-together, and fashion people have already begun wearing them. Below, you'll find a few examples along with shopping options for each elegant pant trend. Keep scrolling to join me in my quest to give my jeans a hiatus for at least a couple of days a week—we can do this.
Cigarette Pants

High-Waisted Pleated Pants
If low-rise trousers aren't your cup of tea, I have good news: High-waisted trousers are back, especially pleated versions. Opt for wide-leg or tapered fits for the most forward look.

Chocolate brown has taken off this year, and it happens to make a perfect trouser color. You can expect to see fashion people wear it instead of black pants this fall.
