Emma Roberts Just Wore the Fanciest Varsity Jacket

There's no question that one of the biggest outerwear trends of the past year has been the bomber jacket. Everyone from Olivia Palermo to Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid has been spotted in one. Whether it's a military-inspired MA1 or an embroidered designer version, this jacket style is guaranteed to give any outfit an extra bit of edge and excitement.

Emma Roberts took this very trend to a whole new level when she wore it out—get this—on the red carpet. While out promoting Scream Queens at a Television Critics Association press event, the actress donned a green satin varsity-style bomber that made us do a double take. She dressed up the typically casual piece by opting for a feminine silk blouse, leather miniskirt, and classic black patent pumps, and gold safety-pin earrings (so '90s!). Although we never guessed we would have seen this sporty jacket style appear in such a formal setting, we were totally proven wrong by how well this chic ensemble worked.
