If some of the biggest names in New York's schedule are saying so—Carolina Herrera, Elie Saab and Monique Lhuillier—this could well signal a turning point for traditionalists.

J.Crew's affordable wedding line already supports this idea, and if you aren't convinced to wear them for the big day in a grand location, then tell your girlfriends who are arranging a registry office event that rolls straight onto a party! No one likes a soggy tulle hem, after all.
