I Scout Trendy Items for a Living—29 I Found Hiding in Nordstrom's Sale Section
Whether sitting at my desk or lying in bed and scrolling on my phone, I'm always looking for trendy items. It's more than a job for me—it's a lifestyle. So, you can bet that when Nordstrom's biggest sale of the year kicked off earlier this month, I quickly got to work searching for the absolute coolest, most on-trend pieces in the offering. I've been to the retailer's flagship New York City store four times since the sale began to scout pieces in person and have rummaged through the online sale section a dozen times or more.
Fortunately, it wasn't for nothing. This year's sale section is overflowing with finds, from the forever-necessary AllSaints leather jacket that's haunted me ever since I worked at the SoHo store the summer after my sophomore year of college to the sunglasses that Olivia Wilde's been wearing for a majority of 2023. But neither come close to competing with the under-$150 Miu Miu–esque buckle motorcycle boots I discovered. All of the above and so much more are just a click away when you scroll down through my hand-picked curation of the most impressive buys from Nordstrom's epic Anniversary Sale, which ends on August 9.
Everyone loves the classic Wayfarers but try this new Mega style if you want a fresh update.
The boots in question. How do they live up the hype? That's a rhetorical question, clearly.
A good belt will take any outfit to another level. It's like salt but in outfit form.
If it's sleeveless with a turtleneck, I'm 100% going to buy it.
I don't think I've ever turned down a new pair of Levi's in my life.
If you're into the current corporate-cool trend, this pinstripe overcoat is for you.
Winter is coming, even if it doesn't feel like it outside.
Classic cashmere knits were all over the F/W 23 runways. It's how you style them that makes this timeless sweater feel modern and new.
This was one of the items I tried on during my last in-person Nordstrom shopping trip. It's scrumptious, and I would've splurged on it if they had my size in the store.
Madewell has been killing it lately.
A big satchel like this one does it all. It looks chic and carries everything you need and then some.
This '90s-inspired silhouette makes me want to get a pixie cut like Gwyneth Paltrow.
This is the perfect topper for a simple jeans-and-tee outfit.
Saint Laurent's last show has me obsessively buying silk and satin tanks like this one.
