I Can't Stop Thinking About These 8 Trends From The Queen's Gambit

In my experience, it's vanishingly rare to come across a truly stylish TV show. A few exceptions come to mind, such as Killing Eve, Gossip Girl, and, of course, Sex and the City (in its own bonkers, '90s way), but in many of these examples, the aesthetics are focused on individual characters: the Villanelles or the Carries. However, the moment I set eyes upon the swinging '60s minis and chic mid-century interiors of The Queen's Gambit, I was truly besotted. Every frame was an artwork in its own right, and the interiors and outfits were heaven for throwback-style enthusiasts such as myself. 

With her bob and fringe haircut and high-waisted trousers, the protagonist Beth Harmon, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, could have easily stepped right off the streets of East London. All I can say is hats off to Gabriele Binder, the show's costume designer, who managed to make the outfits feel both authentically mid-century yet still appealing to the modern fashion lover. 

Clearly, the rest of the world agrees, and according to Netflix, The Queen's Gambit drew in a record 62 million viewers in its first 28 days, making it the streaming service’s biggest scripted limited series. But let's get down to the important stuff—i.e., the looks that I plan on copying this season. The Collared Knitwear

Harmon looked amazing in this pale blue collared knit, and it just so happens that there are plenty of 2020 iterations around right now.
