This May 8–19, Who What Wear Australia presents the second annual Street Style Awards, #TheStreeties, honouring the tastemakers and industry insiders whose style sets the tone and influences the world of fashion today. Last year, Brooke Testoni was crowned the winner of the 2016 Street Style Awards, largely down to her original, authentic and creative fashion choices. The time has now come to announce the honorees for 2017.
Fashion Week Australia has come to an end, and it has been a whirlwind of runway trends and street style images to obsess over. Not one day has passed where we weren’t impressed and in awe of the way fashion girls embraced their creativity and pulled together cool new looks. From daring pieces like printed coats, to incredible It-bags, and the most elegant pieces of jewellery we’ve ever seen, these unique choices lit up Sydney's streets.

Street Style Star of the Year: Chloe Hill
Chloe Hill represents everything that fashion is about—she has the creative eye that we all dream of, she exudes personality with everything she wears, and most importantly, she’s not afraid to push the boundaries (with flair and colour). That’s why we’re crowning her with the coveted award of Street Style Star of the Year and we cannot wait to see what ensemble she will surprise us with next. The Best Street Style Beauty: Sara Donaldson
The founder of Harper & Harley and director of The UNDONE, Sara Donaldson proves that brains, beauty and fashion go hand in hand. Like her approach to fashion, Donaldson’s complexion is flawless and she’s never one to overdo it in the beauty department.
The Best Fashion Week Game: Talisa Sutton
Talisa Sutton has long been on our radar as our fashion chameleon—someone who we can rely on for never-ending inspiration. The stylist and creative director of Badlands is fluid in her styling capabilities—she is able to channel Parisienne chic in a Dion Lee pleated dress and then in a blink of an eye, transform completely with a relaxed, crisp white Hansel and Gretel ensemble.
The Best Model Style: Montana Cox
The moment we saw Montana Cox step out in white embroidered boots and pleated shirt, we knew there was a reason why she was appointed as the official face of Fashion Week Australia.
The Best Newcomer: Ella Jane
We spotted Ella Jane from a mile away, thanks to her distinctive fiery hair and porcelain skin and up close, her style is just as creative as her role with TOMBOY Beauty. Keep your eye out for this street style star on the rise!
The Best Risk-Taker: Brooke Testoni
The fashion predecessor from 2016 proves she’s still got it—Brooke Testoni’s street style is legendary. In true Testoni fashion, her personal style lit up the iconic steps of the Sydney Opera House on day one of Fashion Week Australia, pairing a black Dion Lee dress with a patent Dior handbag and RM Williams boots. That’s what we love about her—she’s not afraid to think outside the box and her confidence for taking style risks is something that inspires us everyday.
The Best Sydney Style: Yan Yan Chan
Yan Yan Chan’s playful approach to fashion is fabulously contagious and Sydney is the perfect place to inject that energy. Everyday, we did not know what to expect from the blogger and looking back on Fashion Week Australia, if we had to describe her style in three words, it would be: youthful, rebellious and spontaneous.
The Best Shoe Game: Carmen Hamilton
Running from show to show no doubt requires excellent (and comfortable) taste in footwear, and Carmen Hamilton of Chronicles of Her knew exactly how to put her best foot forward throughout Fashion Week Australia.
The Best Off-Duty Celebrity Style: Phoebe Tonkin
Phoebe Tonkin represents the essence of Australian street style—her femininity along with her relaxed attitude is what strikes us the most. Even when she’s off-duty, she still manages to pull off 10/10 street style and make it all look so effortless.
The Best #InstaStar: Ally May Hayward
With an Instagram account that boasts 93,000 followers and a social feed filled with endless style inspiration, it’s safe to say Ally May Hayward is the fashion sweetheart of Instagram. Just take a look at her snaps and you’ll appreciate her cool knack for mixing designer wear with high street threads.
The Best Accessories: Sarah Ellen
Sarah Ellen’s choice of accessories was the perfect mix of sophistication and edge. Her Fashion Week formula? A great handbag teamed with intricate pieces from Tiffany & Co’s new HardWear collection. It’s these small details that can make any outfit feel special, and we can only appreciate (and of course, shop) Ellen’s attention to these details.
