In an interview with Vogue, Rihanna made it clear that she designed the collection with the independent woman in mind. “Women should be wearing lingerie for their damn selves,” the star shared. “I can only hope to encourage confidence and strength by showing lingerie in another light. You don’t have to stick to one personality with lingerie; it’s fun to play around. You can be cute and playful one week and a black widow next week. You can take risks with lingerie. I want people to wear Savage x Fenty and think, I’m a bad bitch. The Range Consists of four capsule collections
Savage X Fenty features four collections, comprising over 90 pieces total. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from each:
- On the Reg: This collection is full of your favourite everyday basics. Think nude coloured bras and comfy underwear, these are the pieces you’ll purchase for everyday wear—including essentials like basic strapless bras.
- U Cute: Vogue describes it as a “riff on modern girlishness” and that couldn’t be more true. Frilly, lacy and fun, these pieces are feminine and fun. Many of Riri’s Insta previews were from this capsule.
- Damn: Honestly, the name says it all. These are the pieces that’ll have you doing a double take in the mirror. Sexier and decidedly edgier, these pieces really take it up a notch.
- Black Widow: And finally, if you’re ready to really slay, the Black Widow capsule has you covered—figuratively speaking. Described by the brand as “risqué and ultra sexy” this selection is much more “bad gal” than the others.
The Collection is Size inclusive
While other lingerie brands may have had more limited sizing in the past, Savage X Fenty is made to fit women of all shapes and sizes. Just like Fenty Beauty is lauded for its inclusivity, Rihanna’s new lingerie line seems to be following a similar path, proving that beauty can’t be confined to a specific set of standards.
It's Affordable
In accordance with the brand’s embracing of inclusivity, Savage X Fenty is set at a price point that makes it attainable. With everything hovering around $39 USD ($52 AUD) for bras and $100 USD for rompers and corsets($133 AUD), the price point is much more reasonable than other lingerie brands. It’s even been speculated that Riri is about to knock big-name competitors out of the market, and honestly? We wouldn’t be shocked if it happened.
