Sometimes, though, the cult brand's classic shoes are just what the doctor ordered, as was the case with Reese Witherspoon's new outfit.
Photographed on a rainy New York City evening, Witherspoon made Vans' perennially cool Old Skool Sneakers ($55) look chic with an all-black look. When in doubt, go monochrome—it's the easiest way to look put-together immediately.
