Earlier this week, Paris Hilton created a frenzy with a simple tweet: "Should The Simple Life return?" Almost 2000 people on the Who What Wear Instagram account had an opinion on the matter, confirming that essentially everyone is still obsessed with Hilton and her former co-star Nicole Richie.
As I was doing photo research for a story on the matter, I stumbled across a real gem from November 2001: Hilton and Richie at a Britney Spears concert in Las Vegas. True to her aesthetic, Hilton wore an all-pink look along with a furry Barbie bag and a tiara (because why not?). On the other hand, Richie chose an American-flag tank top with trousers, ankle boots, and a Prada bag for the occasion. If this isn't 2001 style in a nutshell, I don't know what is.
