KiKi Layne Just Started the Chic Red Carpet Trend We Didn't See Coming

If you ask us, KiKi Layne was the breakout red carpet star of award season this year. Who could forget her striking bow-bedecked pink gown at the Oscars or her romantic corsetted dress at the Golden Globes? Well, if you had any doubt that Layne is a fashion force to be reckoned with, her latest outfit will definitely convince you. Attending the Bulgari premiere of Celestial and The 4th Wave ahead of the Tribeca Film Festival, Layne sparked a new red carpet trend with her amazingly cool Christian Siriano dress-over-pants look, which she teamed with Bulgari jewelry and bag. Don't be surprised if you start seeing more dresses styled over pants on red carpets. We don't doubt Layne's style influence one bit.
Below, Layne and her team gave Who What Wear an exclusive look at her getting-ready process ahead of the event, which included her hairstylist, Lacy Redway; makeup artist, Keita Moore; and stylists, Wayman and Micah. In addition to her stunning Bulgari necklace, bracelets, and rings, we love how she chose the brand's silver Serpenti bag to perfectly match her outfit, which is in keeping with the tonal trend we've seen a lot of this year. Scroll down to see how KiKi Layne got ready for the event and see the stylish final product.
