The fact that Natalie Portman is portraying a fashion icon in the new biopic Jackie is but a sliver of the whole story. Quite frankly, it wasn't necessarily the clothes in the official full-length trailer that left us in awe. It was Portman’s portrayal of former First Lady Jackie Onassis Kennedy herself.
If the below two-and-a-half minute teaser is any indication of what we can expect in theaters come December 2, it’ll be a cinematic and very emotional ride indeed, as we see snippets of JFK’s assassination, his burial, and the story’s title character trying it keep it all together for her family and the country. Portman’s Jackie Kennedy not only seems spot on but haunting, disturbing even. And the look that most notably stands out? Mrs. Kennedy's ill-fated pink tweed suit—one that would become historic not only in fashion history but American history as well.
