We Have A Feeling 2000's Britney Would Love This Australian Label
Last night, I.AM.GIA presented its debut show at Fashion Week Australia. Having launched only a year ago, the brand has quickly become a celebrity favourite, known for its edgy and out there designs—and the latest collection definitely played up the bad girl-vibe. While the runway show was undeniably more risqué than other collections we’ve seen thus far, we can't say we were completely shocked. After all, it’s the brand’s wild aesthetic that helped it rise to fame in the first place.
While it may be difficult for most of us to imagine wearing the collection in real life, there is one person we can distinctly envision in it: Britney Spears circa 2000. A denim coordinated ensemble gave us flashbacks to Britney’s iconic red carpet moment with Justin Timberlake… and those pleated mini skirts? Straight out of the “Baby One More Time” music video. In fact, one of the looks even had us doing double takes: There’s no denying that that the two-piece leather coordinate is reminiscent of Brit’s 1999 MTV Video Music Awards getup. If you need more proof, keep scrolling to see the pieces from the I.AM.GIA show that we think 2000's Britney would’ve loved.
It's almost like this outfit was made for 2000's Britney.
"I must confess, I still believe."
A closer look at the aforementioned leather outfit.
2000s Britney loved all things strappy.
Someone find Justin Timberlake ASAP.
