These Are the Leggings to Wear If You're NOT Going to the Gym

Is it acceptable to wear leggings as pants? It’s one of the major fashion debates out there. If you happen to be a fan of wearing them even when there’s no gym in sight, we came across some genius pointers to keep in mind. The Wall Street Journal took an in-depth look at the acceptance of leggings in high fashion, explaining how labels like The Row and Céline have reinvented them with a sophisticated twist. WSJ tapped the fashion director of Amazon Fashion, Gina Tovar, to offer her take on how to choose the right leggings when you’re not headed to a workout.
“If you’re wearing leggings as a style statement, she recommended options in faux leather, smooth but sturdy ponte knit, or velvet,” WSJ wrote of Tovar’s suggestion. Why do we agree with her advice? These styles are more elevated than typical performance leggings and would pair better with non-gym pieces like ankle boots and leather jackets. Head over to WSJ to learn more about the state of leggings in the industry.
