Tonight at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, a number of trends hit the red carpet. Icy shades are among the runaway colors of the night, spotted on everyone from Lady Gaga in her lavender Valentino dress to Alison Brie in her frothy Vera Wang gown. Eyewear was also popular, as seen on Lupita Nyong’o and Patricia Arquette. But perhaps one of the most noteworthy trends of the evening were naked dresses.
Constance Wu, Kiki Layne, and Heidi Klum each wore a dress with “naked” details—like sheer fabrics, corset construction, and bustier silhouettes. “Naked” fashion is a red carpet trend we’re continuing to see (yes, even level-10 naked dresses), and it’s clear that it will continue throughout the 2019 award season.
