All the Happenings in the World of Fashion and Sports Right Now

We're living in the golden age of sports and fashion. There have been glimpses of the two entities colliding in the past, but today, they're practically one. WNBA players are becoming a staple at Paris Fashion Week, NFL stars are donning editor-favorite Coach bags and limited-edition Birkins, Formula One world champions are co-chairing the Met Gala, and brands—from LVMH to Skims—are getting in on all the action.
I'm here to keep the most interesting happenings in the world of sports and style straight, supplying you with the news you want to know. Think Lewis Hamilton's outfit credits in the F1 paddock and upcoming team and player brand collaborations that'll sell out if you don't act fast. Without further ado, let's get started.
Coach Becomes the Official Handbag Sponsor of the WNBA
On the morning of the 2025 WNBA draft, Coach announced a multiyear partnership with the league, with the American leather goods brand becoming the WNBA's official handbag partner. To mark the start of this first-of-its-kind deal, the orange carpet at the draft was presented by Coach and saw rookies such as Paige Bueckers, Hailey Van Lith, Aneesah Morrow, Kiki Iriafen, and Sonia Citron wear designs, mostly custom, by the brand. "We've been working on this for quite a while," Colie Edison, the WNBA's chief growth officer, told Who What Wear on Monday. "Coach is about courageous self-expression, so it really matches up with what we're doing. We support our athletes expressing themselves on the court and off the court." Now, Edison explained, the W and Coach will be giving fans the opportunity to do the same. "We're excited to partner with this league, an organization that uniquely champions individuality, and to support these courageous athletes who are breaking molds [and] inspiring our audiences to embrace the many possibilities of who they are and who they can be," Coach chief marketing officer Joon Silverstein reiterated in a press release.

Formula 1 Watches Win Out at Watches and Wonders
There's a long and storied history between Formula 1 and the world of luxury watches, with watchmakers like Rolex, TAG Heuer, and IWC all taking part in the sport in different ways for varying periods. This month, at Watches and Wonders in Geneva, Switzerland, where all of the latest timepiece developments debuted for 2025, the relationship between watches and motorsport was further strengthened, with a selection of new F1-related drops.
IWC—the official team watch for APXGP, the fictional team featured in F1 the movie, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris—presented an exceptional curation, including a limited-edition Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a racing-green dial that was designed for Pitt's character, Sonny Hayes, and three black-and-gold Pilot's Chronographs that were inspired by APXGP's team colors. TAG Heuer celebrated its renewed role as the official timekeeper of Formula 1, with a total of nine reimagined models tied to the sport, including its Formula 1 Solargraph, which is solar-powered and features a racing-inspired design that any motorsport fan is bound to appreciate, as well as the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph, of which only 10 were made.

Nike and Bode Join Forces on Viral Astrograbber Drop
Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was selected to front Nike's recent campaign with Bode Rec., debuting two refreshed versions of the Nike and Bode Rec. Astrograbber silhouette in a pared-back all-black style as well as the now-viral green-and-black option. (Bode Rec. is a line within Bode that, according to Creative Director and founder Emily Adams Bode Aujla, is "devoted to the history and evolution of athletic apparel, with a personal tie to football inspired by the time her dad spent playing the sport in high school and college.") Bode Aujla took inspiration for the sneaker style and campaign from anecdotes she heard about two Nike icons, Jeff Johnson and Bill Bowerman, during a visit to Nike World Headquarters. Their work reminded her of the "handcrafted elements of early Nike footwear," according to a press release. The black woven textile design is classically sporty, while the green leather version, a reference to a pair of Bowerman's hand-dyed waffle joggers, are more fashion-forward. The former can still be found in stock in selected sizes at Net-a-Porter, Ssense, and more retailers, while the green has sold out but can be purchased on the resale market at GOAT and StockX.

In the two photos, captioned "All in the details #DYPartner," He wears a $6500 18-karat white-gold diamond signet ring and a $2900 18-karat white-gold diamond band, plus a necklace, hoop earrings, and double-wrap bracelet.
NBA Star Russell Westbrook Designs Custom Draft Look for WNBA Rookie Georgia Amoore
Denver Nuggets point guard and founder of fashion label Honor the Gift Russell Westbrook chose the 2025 WNBA draft to show his continued support for women's sports. Westbrook, who's considered one of the NBA's best dressed players, created a custom look in collaboration with draftee Georgia Amoore, who is headed to Washington, D.C., after being drafted to the Mystics in her leather two-piece set by Honor the Gift. "MY story. HER story. OUR story," Westbrook captioned a series of photos on Instagram of him and Amoore at the event. According to the brand, the look took four months to create and marked the first time an NBA player used fashion to amplify a WNBA player's draft moment, "a statement of solidarity, respect, and cultural alignment across leagues," a press release stated. "Salute to Georgia Amoore for allowing us to create art with her on the first of many big nights as a pro, and salute to her for always honoring the gift," a post by the brand reads.
To celebrate the occasion, Honor the Gift dropped a limited-edition T-shirt, worn by Westbrook at the draft. A portion of the net proceeds will be donated to Play Like a Girl.
