I Just Got Back From Barcelona and Amsterdam—Every Single Girl Was Carrying This Anti-Minimalist Bag

Earlier this summer, I spent time in a few of Europe's most stylish cities, and being the style person that I am, I was naturally taking stock of what the best dressed people were wearing in each place I visited. While each city had its own distinct style, there was one major trend I noticed in multiple destinations. When I was in Amsterdam, every other girl was carrying the same specific handbag, a medium-size leather bucket bag dotted all over in different size silver studs. And it was the same story when I got to Barcelona.
I saw so many of the studded bags that at one point I stopped someone in the street to ask about where it was from. She told me she bought hers off Etsy but that everyone was carrying a brand called Dotthz. It was my first time hearing about it, but when I looked up its Instagram, I saw that more than 10 mutuals were following its page, so I knew I had to learn more.
The Dotthz studded bags come in two sizes: a medium tote-bag style ideal for every day and a smaller handheld size that's perfect as an occasion bag. Instead of seeing just a single version, I spotted so many variations. They came in brown and black but also in vibrant shades like cherry red, baby blue, and butter yellow. In fact, the more I traveled, the more I began to notice studded bags all over Europe. The Dotthz bucket bags certainly had a choke hold on Amsterdam, but in Paris, styles from Khaite and Alaïa were popular, while Spanish label Gimaguas was naturally a favorite in Barcelona and the Balearic Islands.
