6 Shoe Trends I'm Wearing With My Jeans This Fall

It's officially my favorite shoe season. While I've just spent the last four months wearing my Arizona Birkenstocks, I'm ready to shake things up in the footwear department now that a new season awaits. Since jeans will soon be in heavy rotation once the temps start to cool, today, I wanted to focus on some of the fall shoe trends that will be on every fashion person this autumn—guaranteed to give your jeans outfit a fresh and fashion-forward touch.
Keep scrolling for some of fall 2024's major shoe trends that go particularly well with the denim styles that are huge right now—from loose and low silhouettes to '90s straight legs. These will make your jeans feel altogether on-trend and elevate even the most basic pair.
Pointed Toes
For fall 2024, it's all about sleek pointed-toe pumps and court shoes—a style that was seen all over the runways from Prada to Valentino. Whether they’re poking out of a pair of wide-leg jeans or styled with straight-leg silhouettes, they're unquestionably one of the most wearable styles of the season.
Shop the trend:
Mules
Despite the cooler weather upon us, on the FW 24 runways, designers were encouraging us to get our ankles out this season. Mules were the unexpected shoe trend we saw, in various iterations from square toes at Bottega Veneta to slipper-style mules at Miu Miu. Show them off with a chic pair of straight-leg jeans.
Shop the trend:
Brown Brogues & Loafers
We saw preppy brown leather loafers and brogues come into the fashion spotlight on the fall runways—from sleek buckled brogues at Miu Miu and Jason Wu, to chunky loafers at Victoria Beckham and Burberry. Whatever you choose, they'll add just the right cool and preppy touch to your denim outfit.
Shop the trend:
Leopard Print
Just one look at all the brands and retailers right now, and you'll see that leopard print is having a major moment this fall. The easiest way to lean into the statement print is with a trendy pair of leopard print shoes that will pair perfectly with your blue denim. Opt for ballet flats, Mary Janes, or chic kitten-heel mules for an of-the-moment look.
Shop the trend:
Soft & Sleek Sneakers
This season, we're seeing sneaker silhouettes in softer and more minimalist styles, bringing a sleek, and elevated touch to the sneaker space. The best part? They're incredibly versatile.
Shop the trend:
Stomping Boots
We see moto and combat styles come back around every autumn, and there's no lack of stomping silhouettes for fall 2024. Loewe and Coach leaned into hardware-forward moto boots, while Miu Miu sent out several lace-enveloped combat boots down the runway. All of them oozed a lived-in, vintage feel.
Shop the trend:
Clogs
Thanks to Chemani Kamali's fall collection for Chloé, boho fashion is officially back, including wood clogs—a style we've seen on everyone from Daisy Edgar Jones to Sienna Miller this season. Style a cool pair with your wide-leg jeans and a ruffle blouse for a trend-forward outfit this fall.
