When the weather is like it is this week, all I want to wear are dresses and sandals—the ultimate throw-on duo. As our routines slowly begin to resume, and we are meeting friends for socially distant picnics and walks, many of us are rediscovering the joy in getting dressed up again. I've worn some of my favourite dresses for a sit in the park and found that the right pair of sandals can help a "fancy" dress feel more relaxed and appropriate for your everyday plans.
Many of the dresses below are perfect for low-key summer plans, but you can also wear them next year to weddings and formal occasions with a switch in sandals. My general rule when it comes to dresses and sandals is that the fancier the dress, the chunkier the shoes. A pair of Tevas or Velcro shoes are the perfect contrast to a silk floral midi dress.
