Some Truly Excellent Outfits to Wear When You're Bored of Your Jeans

If my jeans were able to rack up frequent-flyer miles every time I wore them, I’d be traveling for free a lot. You see, I wear jeans all the time—to the office (no dress code over here!), on the weekend, and to practically every dinner-and-drinks night out. So much so that I’ve currently come down with a minor case of jean fatigue. Yes, it’s a real sartorial illness! And to prevent it from getting any worse, the only remedy is to take a mini break from my jeans and mix up my outfits with some non-denim alternatives. Luckily, there are plenty of easy pieces that look just as casually effortless and will undoubtedly add a much-needed breath of fresh air into my closet.
To get inspired, I turned to some of our favorite fashion muses for some truly excellent casual outfits to wear that don’t involve denim. So if you too find yourself occasionally bored of wearing jeans, get excited by some of the alternatives below.
Cargo Pants
Army-green cargo pants are surprisingly so easy to wear and therefore a great substitute for jeans. Style with a casual tee and pointed-toe heels.
Utility Boilersuit
An of-the-moment boilersuit will solve any dressing dilemma. You can dress it up or down and add interest with layering. Opt for one in a refreshing ecru hue.
Slip Skirt
Don't underestimate the versatility of a midi-length slip skirt. You can wear it with chunky-sole dad sneakers and a sweater for a casual look, or add heels to take you into the night. Either way, it just might become your new wardrobe staple.
Beige Pants
One of the most popular hues seen on the street during fashion weeks, beige is all the rage right now. Opt for a slightly slouchy pant silhouette.
Animal-Print Skirt
On paper, a yellow animal-print pleated skirt does not sound easy to wear like a pair of jeans, but we've got news for you, friends. You can pull off this Rixo one with any of your basics, and it's unquestionably more comfortable than your rigid denim.
Jogging Pants
How cozy yet equally chic does this girl look in this jogging suit? While sweatpants may seem a smidge more casual than your skinny jeans, when dressed up with the right accessories and shoes, they can look just as chic.
Leopard-Print Pants
Leopard is the new neutral, so wear yours as casually as you wear your jeans. Pair with a plain, blue T-shirt as styled above for a refreshingly cool look.
Bike Shorts
When the temps start to rise, you may want to consider giving this season's wildly popular bike shorts a whirl. Slightly scary? Yes. Seriously stylish? Without a doubt. The key is to style them with polished layers like a blazer, belt, and blouse.
White, Loose-Fit Pants
Alongside beige, lighter hues of ecru and alabaster have been omnipresent on the streets. Wear your white pants loose and slouchy, and whatever you do, don't spill your coffee.
Utility Skirt
Modern utility pieces are really easy to wear and look great with everything, from sweaters and mules to T-shirts and boots.
Leather Pants
Leather separates have been having a huge moment lately. They may not be the first thing you'd think of to replace your jeans, but they can look just as effortless when worn with the right pieces. Try pairing wide-leg brown leather pants with a slick turtleneck, a teddy coat, and cool combat boots for a fresh look.
