We Ranked 12 Boot Trends From Classic to Audacious
While trend-averse shoppers might not be willing to test-drive culottes or metallic ombré leggings, shoes are often a category where people feel comfortable going out on a limb. After all, even with the craziest shoe trend, you can still wear your beloved jeans and a basic sweater to tone down the look. Wherever you fall on the shoe trend spectrum, I can guarantee one thing: You will find a pair you'll love in this story.
Why do I know that? Because I've included a full spectrum of boots, including ultra-classic Chelsea boots on sale for $125, timeless Dr. Martens lace-up boots, and statement-making Chanel gold versions that practically belong in a museum. I dug through a ton of recent celebrity photos to find the cream of the shoe crop, and none other than Rihanna, Beyoncé, Camila Mendes, and Jennifer Lopez were among the A-listers who made my list. Scroll down to see how I ranked 12 boot trends into four categories.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 14 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2015, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Kate and Meghan stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible.
