This May 8–19, Who What Wear Australia presents the second annual Street Style Awards, #TheStreeties, honouring the tastemakers and industry insiders whose style sets the tone and influences the world of fashion today. Last year, Brooke Testoni was crowned the winner of the 2016 Street Style Awards, largely down to her original, authentic and creative fashion choices. Be sure to check back on May 19 for our announcement of this year's honourees.
What makes an outfit original? The answer: When modern women use fashion and accessories to exude their personality and show off their creativity. Perhaps it’s clutching a monochrome bag or wearing a pair of ruby-red loafers with relaxed denim. Whatever it may be, when something stands out, it turns heads.
There’s nothing more fierce than seeing a woman unafraid to challenge her own fashion boundaries and have the confidence to do so. That's one of the reasons why we love to celebrate #TheStreeties. It's to spotlight originality, creativity and the spontaneity of Australian street style.
