5 Chic Shoe Trends I Can't Wait to Wear This Spring

I don't know about you, but I'm more than excited to put away my constricting fall and winter shoes and let in a few spring-forward styles. Feel free to disagree with me, but one of my favorite things about spring is the gorgeous shoe options. From fun materials like mesh and woven fabrics to bold colors and freeing silhouettes, there's much to look forward to as far as spring dressing is concerned.

A big part of my job is to monitor the latest collections from designers and determine what they indicate about upcoming trends. I've taken the liberty of doing just that to make your spring shoe-shopping endeavors much more seamless. Ahead, I'm highlighting five key spring shoe trends and exactly where to shop them. Slim Sneakers

With the rise of Adidas Sambas in recent years, it's no surprise other sleeker, slimmer shoe styles have entered the picture. This spring, you'll see other Adidas styles, like the Tokyo and Japan, and the Puma Speedcats trending. Fashion people are flocking to add these to their wardrobes because their streamlined looks make them easy to mix and match with an array of outfits.

Slingbacks

Slingbacks aren't new, but for spring 2025, you'll see new iterations of the classic shoe style. You can expect flat, block-heel, and kitten-heel slingbacks to pop up more and more across top retailers. If you're partial to tried-and-true pumps, they aren't going anywhere. However, you might see these traditional silhouettes in trendy mesh, woven, or bedazzled styles.

Mesh/Woven Flats

Mesh shoes initially rose to mass popularity in 2024. At first, Alaïa owned the trend, but now, other brands are fully on board. In 2025, more mesh styles and even woven styles are popping up for spring and summer. To me, this shows that the trend is here to stay.

Boat Shoes

Boat shoes are back. While the nautical trend first hopped back onto the scene last year thanks to its presence on the Miu Miu S/S 24 runway, it has risen in popularity tenfold with a plethora of other brands releasing their own iterations of the style. Even legacy boat-shoe retailer Sperry has partnered with Aritzia to launch a chic take on this piece of coastal fashion.

Mule Slides

I love an easy shoe style that I can put on in seconds with no hassle. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered that mule slides were popping off among the fashion set. The simple style pairs well with jeans and so many other casual looks. Leather and suede styles are the most popular, but there are unique iterations, including mesh and satin, that you can find online as well.
