My personal belief when it comes to boots is that one can never have too many. Needless to say, as soon I get wind of a new style suddenly showing up everywhere, I want to be the first to know everything about it. This conveniently leads into the trend we're discussing today: slouchy boots.
Admittedly, slouchy boots already had a bit of a shining moment a few years ago thanks in part to Anthony Vaccarello's Parisian-sleek A/W 17 Saint Laurent collection. Featuring hyperbolically slouchy patent-leather boots styled with flashy minidresses, that runway show alone was likely responsible for 90% of slouchy-boot sales in 2018. Since then, the silhouette has quietly faded into the background, with others rising in its place—cue the Bottega Veneta Puddle boots and extreme platforms. But my editor intuition is telling me the trend is due for another comeback this year.
Now that slouchy boots are gaining some momentum, it's only natural to look for the best pairs out there.
