Even Off the Runway, These Australian Models Have Great Style

This May 8–19, Who What Wear Australia presents the second annual Street Style Awards, #TheStreeties, honouring the tastemakers and industry insiders whose style sets the tone and influences the world of fashion today. Last year, Brooke Testoni was crowned the winner of the 2016 Street Style Awards, largely down to her original, authentic and creative fashion choices. When we watch fashion weeks around the world and in Australia, it’s the fashion risk-takers that are hard for us to ignore. For models, it’s in their DNA to transform their style off the runway and onto our streets. One minute they are adorned in the most beautiful haute couture pieces, and then, in a flash, you'll spot them in off-duty denim paired with a single piece of jewellery that adds a touch of edge.

We think of #TheStreeties as a celebration of the creativity of Australian street style—a toast to the women who make us want to step up our style game. When we spot the likes of Australian models Gemma Ward or Shanina Shaik, no matter where they are, these models prove their flair for style. They represent the spirit and strength of a modern woman—and we couldn’t be any prouder to call them Australian.
