I'm a huge champion of exactly three things for summer: adult body shimmer, sunscreen, and ultra-luxurious body oil. My regular body oil of choice for summer (and every season, honestly) is Osea's Undaria Algae Body Oil ($52), but there's a new kid on the block that I recently added to my regular rotation so damn fast. Vacation, a favorite of the Who What Wear beauty team, just launched a shimmering body oil with SPF 30, and it's all I've been wearing to the beach lately. While I do wear an extra layer of sunscreen underneath for added sun protection, I have to admit that my favorite element of the product isn't even the fact that it has SPF in it—it's how it makes me into a human disco ball.
I absolutely love a good body shimmer, but I've found a lot of them to be underwhelming once you actually put them on your skin. That's not the case with this one. Vacation's Shimmer Oil makes your skin so luminous, and it looks gorgeous when the sun hits it just right. Don't worry, though. I say "human disco ball" for dramatic effect, but it isn't overwhelming or too much—I promise. It includes two types of gold mica shimmer: a base layer of pearlescent glaze and then larger-sized gold flecks that give it even more of a boost. The effect is truly something to behold. I tried to capture a photo, but photos don't even do it justice.
Not only does it add a serious glow, but it also contains a host of skincare ingredients that deeply hydrate and firm the skin. For starters, a luxe blend of argan, marula, and jojoba oils glides and sinks easily into your skin without making it overly oily. My skin feels so soft after application. Next, it contains a hefty dose of peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and bisabolol to support a strong skin barrier and minimize any potential irritation from sun exposure.
It also, of course, features SPF 30 sun protection and Vacation's signature scent. If you've had the chance to give the brand's eau de toilette version of the scent a go, then you know just how amazing it smells. This is another body shimmer that doesn't disappoint. I've been using it for years and love wearing it during the summer for nights out.
Kopari's Rose Gold Sun Shield is another great option if you love an SPF and body shimmer in one. It contains rose gold pearlescent minerals that give the skin extra radiance along with antioxidant-rich oils to nourish the skin. As a bonus, it has a juicy guava-mango scent to it.
This oil with SPF provides a glowy finish and shields against dehydration, pollution, and sun damage.
Featuring a blend of coconut, argan, and grapeseed oils, this body oil with SPF is a good one to have on hand all season. It also contains nutrient-rich seaweed to hydrate, strengthen, and protect the skin.
This is another Vacation option I like to slather on during the warmer months, but I'm so glad the brand now has an option with shimmer.
