I'm a Beauty Editor With a Penchant For Self-Care Desk Essentials—15 I Keep Within Arm's Reach
These chic products help me look good and feel good throughout the work day.

I've always been someone who appreciates a pretty desk, but I'll also admit that sometimes my shopping enthusiast side stands in direct opposition of the one that needs to be productive and have space that promotes a healthy work/life balance. At the moment, my office days are over, and I spend most of my 9-5 either tucked away in the corner of a busy cafe or at my desk facing a window to fully embrace my inner Carrie Bradshaw (her work style, not her romantic choices since 'm more of a Charlotte York).
While I strive to keep my desk clear besides my trusty laptop, a lamp, a few sticky notes, and a cup of tea, I reserve my drawers for all the beauty must-haves that keep me feeling ready to take on whatever wins and challenges the day may bring. In-between meetings and writing sessions, you'll catch me using the 15 below products. Get ready to clear some extra space in your drawers and on desktops—these are too good to skip!
Face Mist
Whether I'm in the office or working from home, I do my best to ensure my skin stays hydrated. One of my favorite face mists to get the job done is Caudalie must-have. Its infused with 100% organic, antioxidant-rich grape water blends the juicy benefits of minerals, potassium, and moisturizing polysaccharide to deliver intense moisture to the skin with strengthening its barrier. This is the spray that saved my skin in the months following my cross-country moves from Seattle to New York City (and back), so I'll forever be grateful.
Since I'm always on-the-go, I gravitate towards multi-use products that can help cut down on the time I spent prepping my skin and makeup. Caudalie has a few heavy-hitters that will always make it in my bag as I'm heading out the door, but their Beauty Elixir Face Mist is my favorite. Combining the all-natural ingredients of essential oils with orange blossom water and grape extract, this face mist preps skin, sets makeup for a skin-like finish, and leaves a natural glow. It also refreshes the skin and tightens pores throughout the day.
Rhose's Glazing Mist absolutely deserves all the hype its been receiving on social media since its launch was announced. The superfine mist hydrates and refreshes skin for a glazed and glowy finish with a fast-acting formula powered by ectoin (an amino acid derivative that binds water molecules to the skin to keep it hydrated). The revitalizing formula also has a skin barrier reinforcing ceramide trio, purifying magnolia extract, and mushroom-derived beta-glucon for a burst of hydration.
I don't see nearly enough people talking about how good Summer Friday's face mist, and I'm on a mission to rectify it. Part of the brand's bestselling Jet Lag line, this soothing, hydration-boosting mist leaves skin glowing and dewy so you can take care of your complexion while you're out and about. It works both over and under makeup, and has a formula filled to the brim with nourishing humectants like glycerin, Summer Friday's patented Skin-Soothing Complex, and their Skin-Barrier-Support Complex.
Hand Cream
I've always received compliments on how soft my hands feel, so I'm picky about the hand creams I reach for during the work day. Nécessaire's fast-absorbing barrier cream continued to be a favorite of mine because it uses a pH-optimized formula infused with peptides, niacinamide, and vitamin-rich marula oil. I love how using it overtime can also help strengthen and firm skin on contact (thank you, niacinamide!)
I was raised with deep southern roots and an appreciation for the benefits of shea butter that has been amplified since embarking on my career as a beauty editor. Of all the shea butter-infused products I've come across, the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream has always had a place on my desk. The hand cream is formulated with 100% organic and fair-trade certified shea butter to soften and moisturize the skin. It also offers protection from drying external aggressors and leaves your skin lightly scented.
I adore the warm santal scents and the earthy quality of vetiver fragrances, so a cozy blend of the two in a hand cream that gets it right is almost too good to be true... yet, Salt & Stone does it perfectly. Their Nourishing Hand Cream balances the two notes with a third (amber) in a formula combining antioxidant-rich ocean botanicals, fatty acid rich snow mushroom, and niacinamide to support the skin barrier. It absorbs in seconds, leaving behind a silky, soft finish worth admiring.
Yes, there is a smaller, tube version of the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm available, but I'm all for a bottle, a pump, and 16.5 ounces of one of the most moisturizing hand balms I've tested. Luxe and fast-absorbing, it contains a blend of fragrant botanicals and skin-softening emollients that keeps my hands and cuticles hydrated. It has a lovely woody, herbaceous scent (with just a hint of citrus) that lingers on the skin with no greasy mess.
Hand Sanitizer
Do I need a hand sanitizer for each of my purses? I believe in tucking my favorite hand sanitizers into each bag without shifting contents around. So, a three pack of Noshinku's Refillable Hand Sanitizer being tucked safely in a desk drawer for easy access just makes sense. This one includes my go-to scents with nourishing jojoba, argan, rosehip, and coconut oils in a 70% sugarcane-derived alcohol.
Since discovering Touchland hand sanitizers in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, these little beauties have had a permanent spot on my desk. These viral hand sanitizers are celebrated for their travel-friendly design are ideal for tucking into a pocket, drawer, or bag, and lightweight, fast-absorbing formulas enriched with aloe vera and radish root ferment. Unlike the hand sanitizers of my childhood, these help hydrate skin and enhance skin’s moisture retention rather than leave them feeling like sandpaper.
Looking for a hand sanitizer that's gentle and beautifully scented? Try EO's Hand Sanitizer in French Lavender. Its formula is crafted from sugar cane ethanol (a natural disinfectant) and uses jojoba seed oil to replenish moisture and a dynamic duo of vitamin E and vegetable glycerin to ensure your hands won't dry out. I'm obsessed with how little space the bottle takes up since it's tall and slim with an easy-to-use pump.
Moroccanoil's gel-based hand sanitizer deliver protection and nourishment with a blend of vitamin E-rich argan oil and hydration-boosting hyaluronic acid. It's also fragranced with the brand's signature scent (a Mediterranean-inspired blend of spicy amber and soft florals), and is offered in three different sizes for all your rinse-free needs. I like to think of it as the triple threat of hand sanitizers.
Lip Treatments
I can never get enough of three-in-one lip treatments, and this new launch checks all the right boxes. With water, glycerin, squalane, pomegranate sterols, and gentle AHA, this lip formula hydrates, exfoliates, and protects dry lips to create cushiony comfort and hydration that lasts all day. It's designed for chronically dry lips and delivers soft, moisturized lips with every swipe. I'm calling it now—this will be the next big thing for TikTok's beauty crowd?
This one shouldn't be surprising. Summer Friday's Lip Butter Balm is one of the most viral lip treatment products that 100% deserves all the hype it gets. Not only are new shades constantly being released (I'm partial to Vanilla Beige, Iced Coffee, and Brown Sugar), but it's vegan formula is equally impressive. It features a shea and murumuru butter seed butter blend to soothe and relive parched lips, as well as vegan waxes to bring on all-day shine.
Clearly, I love a good product from Nécessaire that can lock in moisture when I need it the most (A.K.A. when I'm in an office environment that's zaps it from my skin). Nécessaire's The Lip Balm offers immediate relief for dry, chapped lips with niacinamide, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and shea butter to keep my lips feeling nourished and protected. A dash of pure essential mint oil freshness.
I'll never say no to a lip treatment that delivers the perfect berry-inspired shade for my skin tone and provides deep hydration for my lips, all while also enhancing their fullness. I have the An-Gloss Ceramide Lip Tint in every shade, but I've been using Spice Cake (a sheer, rosy brown) nonstop since it launched. I'm also a huge fan of its hydrating formula, which consists of five skin-identical ceramides and two plumping peptides.
