The Australian Sunglass Brands Taking Over Our Instagram Feeds

There are two things Australia is doing really well right now—swim and sunglasses. No surprise, seeing as we spend about 90% of our downtime by the beach. In a recent interview with Business of Fashion, Hamish Tame of Le Specs discussed the crazy demand for the brands' Adam Selman x Le Specs Lolita Sunglasses, a collab which immediately went gangbusters after Gigi Hadid Instagrammed it. "I had a Skype meeting with Adam the morning the black Lolita got released," says Tame. "We had just received 1,600 pieces. Over the duration of that hour that we were talking, I was like, 'Ok, we’re up to 500 units sold, we’re up to 600 units…' By the end of the Skype call we had totally sold out." Proving there’s some kind of magic behind a sunglasses collaboration, Pared eyewear has collaborated with Bec and Bridge for the release of its Petite Armour range, which we’ve already spotted on Kaia Gerber. The two brands are making serious waves on Instagram, but they're not the only two.

Along with Le Specs and Pared, Poppy Lissiman is everywhere right now, thanks to the release of the brands' now-cult Matrix-style sunglasses. They've already popped up all over our Instagram feeds, worn by the likes of Taylor LaShae, Nadia Fairfax, and Carmen Hamilton.
