This Cool-Girl Jewellery Designer's Makeup Bag Costs £339: Here's What's Inside

If you’ve ever wanted to know what’s really inside the makeup bags of the most stylish women in the industry, you’re in luck. We’ve created a new column, Show Me the (Makeup) Money, to uncover the beauty products our fashion friends genuinely keep in their daily rotation—and how much their stash actually costs. I’ll be delving inside their bags on your behalf and totting up every item in there, from the most expensive to the cheapest. Not only will you be left with an incredible shopping list, but also a realistic price tag to boot. Is there someone whose makeup bag you’re dying to see inside? Slide into my Instagram DMs with your requests, and I’ll see what I can do. This month, I’m delving inside the everyday makeup bag of the founder and CEO of covetable jewellery brand Astrid & Miyu, Connie Nam.
If you’re into piercings, cool jewellery and trending IG brands, chances are you’ll have heard of London-based jewellery brand Astrid & Miyu. Prior to founding the brand out of her apartment in Notting Hill, Connie Nam actually worked in investment banking, but she changed career paths due to her desire to create an affordable, unique and beautiful brand.
Nam is passionate about building a strong community of customers—as can be seen by the sheer amount of tagged images shared with the Astrid & Miyu Instagram page—and the brand has quickly become a destination for cool girls seeking beautiful jewellery as well as becoming a piercing destination in its own right.
"I think providing a genuine experience that customers really need is the future for retail,” explained Nam. "Piercing done at a high standard is what our customers wanted, but it was missing in the market, and we’re delivering it to them.”
I couldn’t wait to see what a business powerhouse, mum of two and woman whose sights are firmly set on global expansion kept in her everyday makeup bag. Turns out that it’s a highly covetable mix of glow-boosting skincare, on-the-go makeup and, of course, some jewellery.

"I’m travelling a lot for work now, with regular new pop-ups for Astrid & Miyu in New York and meetings across Europe. I often go straight from flight to meetings, so I like to ensure my skin is always refreshed. I apply this with my fingers pre- and post-flight, and it keeps me looking fresh-faced throughout the day.”
"This is probably my absolute go-to beauty product. I’m a huge Charlotte Tilbury fan, and this literally does do exactly what it says in the pot. As I approach my 40s this month (ahh!), I’m definitely taking more care of my skin and use this every morning without fail. It instantly reduces any lines and blemishes.”
"Another go-to brand of mine is Caudalie. I spray this whenever my skin needs a quick refresh in between meetings and running around with my two children. Keeping my skin hydrated is really important to me, so I drink plenty of water and use this to give me a burst of radiance.”
"Again, juggling my business and two toddlers means that making time for a good hair-pamper session can be difficult—particularly since I have thick long hair. I’ve become a bit of an addict to Byredo d’Afrique. The smell is just amazing, and it keeps my hair feeling fresh! I literally just spray this around my roots and I’m good to go.”

"I love to layer up my necklaces, and this a great starting point with the longer chain; then I add chokers etc. The perfect addition to your plain white tee or that Zara dress.”
