As a shopping editor, it can be all too easy to have a grazing attitude to fashion, as on a daily basis, you'll find me scrolling through the new-in sections of countless brands, and the temptation to add the odd £30 top to my basket is all too real. My solution? Ensure I've got my style essentials in order. If there's one thing I know, it's that the power of a well-built capsule can not be underestimated.
All I can say is, thank god for the minimalist stylings of Arket—my sartorial respite in-amongst the mayhem of the high street. Stripped-back and colour-coded, Arket's stores are ideally set up to cater to a more considered approach to shopping, which is good news for those of us trying to stick to a "capsule" mentality.
I've spent the last few weeks spring cleaning my wardrobe and working out which gaps need to be filled, and Arket is the brand that is undeniably acing it in the spring style stakes right now. At the top of my list is the trophy top, and a square neckline will make any pair of tailored trousers look instantly more premium.
