Alexa Chung has been a style muse of ours for a very long time, and while we love the way she tends to experiment with fashion, there is one tried-and-tested item the presenter returns to over and over again: miniskirts.
The french-girl favourite is an important element of Alexa’s wardrobe. Though recently, we’ve noticed that she has gravitated toward a very specific kind of miniskirt, generally opting to wear an A-line leather iteration. In fact, Alexa has been spotted on Instagram sporting an A-line leather mini three times in the last two weeks. Now, we’d definitely call that a trend.
Pairing them against a series of brightly coloured tailored shirts, fuzzy knits, and sheer tights, Alexa has worn a leather mini for everything from Dior’s Couture runway to filming an episode of her new show, Next in Fashion. She's certainly made me rethink the closet staple, which in all honesty I had kept relegated to the back of my closet for quite some time.
Thanks to a little Alexa inspiration, I'm now planning to pull my leather mini out of retirement and wear it alongside a button-down and tights for workdays or with sneakers and a chunky knit when the weekend weather improves.
