Both brands had a chokehold on me in the early 2000s and have now mounted comebacks in 2022 thanks in no small part to TikTok. J.Crew has leaned heavily on its incredibly stylish new designer, Olympia Gayot, who has attracted a cult following of her own. Meanwhile, Abercrombie's success can be attributed to its well-fitting denim, which earned plenty of fans on TikTok, and its ability to distance itself from the logomania that dominated the early 2000s.
